As a producer in the New York theater world, John’s plays have been performed on Broadway, Off Broadway and at the United Nations.
In 2009, John’s Company, Invictus Theater, brought the play Irena’s Vow to Broadway starring four time Tony nominee Tovah Feldshuh. The show was performed at the majestic Walter Kerr Theater after an eleven week sold out run off-Broadway. Irena’s Vow was co produced by Daryl Roth and Jimmy Nedelander and was the first play in history to be performed at the United Nations.
In 2012, Invictus Theater premiered the stage adaptation of Dan Gordon’s Murder in the First at 59 East 59th Street Theater. The show received incredible reviews and starred Tony nominee Chad Kimball (currently on Broadway in Come From Away ). Murder in the First was produced by legendary Broadway producer Chase Mishkin, along with Buddy and Barbara Freitag (Memphis)
In fall 2017, Invictus Theater was an associate producer on the off Broadway premiere of Dan Gordon’s stage adaptation of Terms of Endearment starring Molly Ringwald. Based on the Oscar winning film, the play premiered at 59 East 59th Street theaters in NYC.
John has also produced two staged readings of his original play, American Dream, at the Peter J Sharp theater at Playwrights Horizons and MTC. The readings starred Obie, Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel winner David Morse, Oscar Winner Kathleen Turner, Obie Award winner Tamara Tunie, SAG nominee and star of ‘Homeland’ Sarita Choudhury, and Sag nominee and American Movie Award winner Stelio Savante.
